Judith Kirschner received her PhD with a dissertation on ‘Governing Wildfire Regimes: Creating Urgency Without a Crisis’ in March 2024 at European University Cyprus (advisor Prof. George Boustras). In April 2024, Judith took on a position as postdoctoral researcher at the Institute of Geography at University of Bern. Her work explores wildfire, risk perceptions and learning experiences at individual and community levels in Switzerland and Cyprus. Prior to joining the PyroLife research and training programme, Judith completed a Master’s degree in Earth Sciences (University of Amsterdam) and in Environmental Management (University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences, Vienna).
