During his undergraduate years, he visited as a student researcher the Brazilian Amazon and later Aysén (Patagonia), located in the southern part of Chile. Both of these experiences reaffirmed his conviction in the urgent need to care for rural life as an important intermediary and protector of wilderness.
Subsequently, he engaged in various research projects focused on conservation, rural communities, heritage, and sustainability. The Pyrolife project emerged as an excellent opportunity for him to integrate his diverse interests by delving into a contemporary and multidisciplinary subject. He will be researching community engagement for wildfire risk management.
