Developing and implementing vegetation fire training for the UK

The presentation covered how Forestry Commission, working with England, UK and International partners, developed and implemented accredited training to land managers across game management, forestry, conservation and farming sectors to increase resilience to wildfire incidents and improve prescribed burning operation as part of climate change adaptation.

With over 25 years forestry and 7 year Fire and Rescue Services experience Rob works a England, UK and international levels on wildfire management and helping to improve resilience to a wide range of natural hazards. This includes both UK and international experience of wildfire operations, leading the UKs first official international deployment in 2018, policy work for wildfire resilience with HM Government as well as European Union lead for wildfires and numerous partnership working.
