There are three primary drivers influencing fire behavior and together are referred to as the fire behavior triangle. Weather – ignition conditions are stronger in higher temperatures, lower humidity, etc.. They are all popular words lately in research, governance, businesses and civic society, so let’s break the concepts down into bite-sized pieces. For this, a metaphor and a snack will help: grab a cookie! Multidisciplinary work is like having flour, sugar, butter, eggs and chocolate all sitting in a bowl (please adapt your theoretical recipe based on dietary needs and/or beliefs!). Get to know Kathleen Uyttewaal

About us
Kathleen is a French and U.S. citizen with a Dutch last name, who speaks Spanish with a Chilean accent while living and working in Catalunya. Throughout her career she’s been a perpetual agroecology student, from her undergraduate degree at UC Berkeley to her master’s degree in Andalucía, and also as a farm laborer. She has acted as an environmental educator in California and Barcelona, working with participatory methods and youth empowerment.
