Frequently Asked Questions: PyroLife positions
How can I apply? You can apply to a specific position of your interest through the *application system* of the organization that advertises the position. This information is available in the pdf/weblink provided to the full description to each position. Include in your application letter the title of the position you apply for. Please do not send your application to the contact person of the position, but instead upload it to their application system. Only applications that are uploaded in application systems will be considered.
The topic I like is not available yet on the website: The positions are being advertised one by one, when every organization has passed their internal approval and publication process. If the one you’re interested in is not available yet, please check back in in a few days. All positions will be open for 28 days so you will still have four weeks to express your interest.
I have not received my Masters diploma yet. If you have not yet received your diploma you may still be able to apply, provided that you can demonstrate that you have finished your studies by 30 March 2020. All PhD positions start on 1 April 2020. Because of the network-wide training activities that are organized, with two major events in April and May 2020, it is not possible to change the starting date.If you have completed your studies in time but will not receive the diploma in time, please get in touch with the contact person of the position you are interested in to see if you are eligible. This may vary between the organizations involved.
I do not have a Masters degree, only a Bachelors’ degree: In order to be eligible to apply for PyroLife positions you need to have a relevant Masters degree. Without a Masters degree you are not eligible to apply.
Is it possible to change the fixed starting date of 1 April 2020? No it is not. PyroLife is a training program with a coherent set of network-wide training and networking activities, part of which is mandatory for all candidates. This directly starts in April and May 2020 which means that is it not possible to start at another time than 1 April 2020.
Do I meet the mobility requirement? PyroLife as a Marie Curie Action is a researcher mobility programme. You are therefore required to undertake transnational mobility in order to be eligible for recruitment. As such, you must not have resided or carried out your main activity (e.g. work, studies) in the country where you have been recruited for more than 12 months in the 3 years immediately before the closing date of the job announcement (this date varies in each job announcement).
